About Artist

Kim Leming is Cree from Lac La Ronge, SK.
Small business owner, beader and mixed media artist.

After creating and mixing in my studio, for a number of years, I finally got around to getting a website.  What you will find is an array of creations.

Depending on my mood and what I’m working though, I may use multi media and collage work on birch panels or art cards.  I have extensive photography skills in both digital and analog and welcome the day when I can get my darkroom set up and running again.

I have recently picked my needle and thread up again to rediscover beading using the two needle method, loom weaving.

Currently living in BC on Vancouver Island.  Its such a joy and honor to live in such a rich and vibrant artistic community.  I'm fortunate that I can hike or run the local mountain trails, snowboard and snowshoe through cedar forests and then sit around a campfire in the evenings all in one area.
Being part of the Sixties Scoops in Canada, I was adopted and raised outside of my Indigenous community and culture.  I am still learning who I am and where I come from.  My natural sense of curiosity, has allowed me to explore and pick up beading, photography, and other various of creative outlets.  While my work is far from what most would consider traditional First Nations artwork, my art has allowed me to explore what Indigenous means to me.
